Urban's rail expertise is at work in the Panama Canal. Our engineers are designing crossover assemblies at the Canal's Pedro Miguel, Miraflores and Gatun Locks. The crossover replacement is part of comprehensive program of renewal of the tow tracks used by the Authority's locomotives. Locomotives assist ships on their trip through the Panama Canal's locks. The assemblies, which date from the opening of the Canal in 1914, are beyond their expected service life.
