The PENNDOT Selection Board has chosen the Apex Environmental/Urban Engineers team for a $5 million, five year statewide open end contract: "Waste Management, Pollution Prevention, and Environmental Health and Safety Services." Apex, with Urban as the major subconsultant, has held the contract for the past two years.
In PENNDOT's announcement, they commented on the team's performance over the past two years. PENNDOT noted that the Team has:
- consistently provided high value services to the Department
- demonstrated a high degree of technical skills in all of the necessary contract elements and a willingness to provide the Department with excellent services
- demonstrated the ability to pull resources from other locations and integrate them into an effective and cost-efficient Team to service the Department
- demonstrated proactive communication and outreach to the Department's Central Office, District offices, and other agencies in the Pennsylvania Government
- has the Department's and the Commonwealth's interest in mind and that a trust has been established in the Team
- performed well in implementing the Strategic Recycling Program and the success of this program is attributed to their efforts
