Urban
Selected for Two Projects on I-95 in DE
. . . . . . . . . . .
The Delaware Department of Transportation selected Urban to provide final design and public involvement services to reconstruct a two-mile section of I-95 from the Wilmington Viaduct to the US 202 Interchange. The project includes the design of new pavement and structure repairs to overhead bridges. The I-95 roadbed is the original roadway pavement section that was constructed almost 30 years ago. The roadway segment of I-95 through Wilmington has been resurfaced but the concrete base has deteriorated and is in poor condition.

DelDOT also selected Urban to perform construction inspection services for the I-95 Wilmington Viaduct and Rehabilitation and Painting Project. Urban will provide an assistant project resident, office engineer and construction inspectors throughout the construction contract. Construction includes blast cleaning and painting of existing structural steel on 60 spans and five ramps of I-95 as well as drainage improvements and structural repairs and replacements.
