The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) has selected Urban Engineers, Inc. to provide on-call, general engineering consultant (GEC) services for its bus, subway, light rail, and regional rail system that serves the five-county Philadelphia metropolitan area.
This will mark the fourth time that SEPTA has contracted with Urban for GEC services. Urban helped SEPTA create the GEC concept in the early 1980s, and served as its GEC from 1982 through 1984. Subsequently, Urban was SEPTA's GEC for Light and Heavy Rail Projects from 1993 through 1996 and for Facilities Planning Projects from 1997 to 2002.
