Urban Selected to Provide GIS Services to DelDOT

Urban Engineers, Inc. has been selected by the Delaware Department of Transportation to provide services related to Geographic Information Systems. Urban will provide a wide range of GIS, database, and web-based applications during the three year service duration. DelDOT currently has a “shopping list” of task assignments that the Urban Team may perform, such as:

  • Develop a Statewide Strategic GIS Plan to identify GIS needs throughout the Department and develop a structured program to meet those needs within budgetary, staffing, and scheduling limitations.

  • Develop a Linear Referencing System for relevant DelDOT GIS data sets to associate attributes or events to locations or portions of a linear feature (such as highways, railroads, transit routes and utilities).

  • Streamline the GIS components of DelDOT’s Capital Transportation Program and automate the process to the maximum extent possible.

  • Integrate Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) data from different ITS systems and platforms and centralize data storage and review capabilities.

  • Provide integration services for the variety of data sources currently used by DelDOT.
