Urban selected by FTA for five-year Project Management Oversight contract . . . . . . . . . . .
			Urban has been selected by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to continue to provide Nationwide Project Management Oversight Services for the period 2004 to 2009. This is a multi-million dollar contract that will take Urban’s personnel the length and breadth of the country. Over the past 14 years, Urban has provided project management, project administration, technical support, and subconsultant management to the FTA for nationwide assignments involving new and expanded transit systems. Urban’s assignments have involved major capital improvement programs for such agencies as the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA), Fort Lauderdale’s Tri-County Commuter Rail Authority (Tri-Rail), Miami’s Metro-Dade Transit Agency (MDTA), Orlando’s Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX), Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA), Fort Worth Transportation Authority (FWTA), Maryland Transportation Authority (MTA), Denver Regional Transit District, (RTD), Las Vegas Regional Transportation Commission, and others. In these assignments, Urban monitors the performance of the agencies and their consultants to confirm that the federal government’s funds are being appropriately spent and provides special consultations on a broad range of issues that may emerge throughout the conduct of a project.
