Urban selected for Route 130/49 Corridor Study

The South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization has selected Urban to undertake a planning study for the Route 130/49 corridor. This 13 mile-long corridor includes Penns Grove Borough, Carneys Point Township, and Pennsville Township in Salem County, New Jersey.

The purpose of the study is to identify operational and safety problems in the corridor and to recommend and prioritize potential solutions at a sketch planning level. The public process will feature a design charrette to develop solutions with the public and affected municipalities, counties, and agencies.

Urban will also examine the critical roadways that intersect Routes 130 and 49 - - such as Interstate 295, the New Jersey Turnpike, US Route 40 and NJ Route 140 - - to determine how their operations and characteristics affect the two primary roadways under study.
