FTC named Project of the Year

The Project Management Institute of the Delaware Valley has named the Frankford Transportation Center (FTC) as its Project of the Year. Under contract to the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), Urban, in joint venture with O’Brien-Kreitzberg, was the Program Manager for the construction of this key multi-modal transportation complex in northeast Philadelphia.

The Institute selected the FTC for its annual award “because the project management team followed well accepted project management guidelines to achieve cost, schedule and budget requirements, and also because the team identified the significant risks associated with a nine- day rail outage required to complete the project. The project team worked with the Frankford community leaders to mitigate the impact of construction on the community during those nine days.”

The Chapter Project of the Year Award recognition is the first step in the annual competition for the International Project of the Year Award sponsored by the Project Management Institute.
