Urban Engineers to manage $140 million Meadowlands railroad and roadway construction project
The New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority has selected Urban Engineers to provide construction management services for the Meadowlands Railroad and Roadway Improvement Project in northern New Jersey.
Designed to improve access to the Meadowlands Sports Complex, which includes Giants Stadium, the Meadowlands Racetrack, and the Continental Airlines Arena, the $140 million project will focus on rail and roadway enhancements.
Rail construction will consist of two tracks, each approximately 2.3 miles in length, to connect through a new interlocking with New Jersey Transit’s Pascack Valley Line to bring patrons to a new rail station at the complex. New roadways, ramps, bridges, intersections, and parking lot improvements will be constructed to improve vehicular access. Construction is anticipated to be completed on or before December 31, 2007.
