Urban to provide design and survey services for the Philadelphia Navy Yard
Basin Bridge Complex

Under the auspices of the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation, Urban will provide multi-discipline engineering/architectural design and construction support services for the construction of a 33,600 SF multi-tenant building (conventional or pre-engineered building) on a predominantly vacant six-acre site located at the westerly portion of the former Philadelphia Navy Yard. The property was formerly a tank farm that contained aboveground storage tanks that have been removed and remediated. The proposed facility will accommodate two committed tenants who will respectively occupy approximately 22,000 SF and 4,000 SF of the proposed facility.

Site work includes installation of utilities to support the facility including electric, water, storm and sanitary sewers, telephone, and natural gas. Architectural work includes tenant programming and interior layout design.

The facility will require a “fast-track” design process as well as an expedited construction schedule.

Urban’s services will consist of Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
