Urban to prepare Stamford's citywide traffic calming plan

The City of Stamford, Connecticut has selected Urban Engineers, Inc. for a multi-year contract to prepare its citywide traffic calming plan. Urban will develop a "blueprint" to help reduce neighborhood cut-through traffic, reduce speeding and keep non-residential traffic on non-residential streets. The plan will also establish a community process by which adjustments can be made as conditions change over the years of deployment. The end result of this project will be the second citywide traffic calming master plan to be deployed in the eastern United States. Urban developed the first such plan for the City of Hartford, Connecticut in 2004. Portions of that plan are currently being implemented.

Urban’s New England regional office in Hartford, Connecticut will manage this key assignment.
