The Delaware Department of Transportation has awarded Urban Engineers, Inc. a three-year contract for the construction inspection of highway and bridge projects within DelDOT’s North District. The projects may include, but are not limited to, inspection activities involving hot mix and portland cement concrete paving, drainage, excavation, embankments, structures, guardrail, landscaping and other activities as assigned by the Department.

Under the contract, Urban will provide a project engineer, chief inspector, and inspectors to provide field reviews, survey work, quantity calculations, project recordkeeping, materials testing, documentation and claims assistance, review of project CPM schedules, and other as-needed construction administration services. Urban will also provide specialists to inspect or assist other inspectors in such areas as bridge painting, foundation construction, complex bridge rehabilitations, and other areas involving specialized construction techniques or materials.

In December 2003, Urban was awarded a contract to provide construction inspection services in DelDOT’s South District.
