Urban Engineers, Inc. and Marvin Waxman Consulting Engineers (MWCE) have consolidated offices at Urban’s Philadelphia headquarters office at 530 Walnut Street. The move of the 19-person mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering firm from Glenside, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania to Philadelphia comes 18 months after Urban acquired MWCE and increases Urban’s total floor space in the building by 15 percent.
According to Urban’s president, Edward M. D’Alba, P.E., the move will “enhance operational efficiencies and create a higher level of synergy and coordination using the technical capacities of the entire Urban Team.”
Since its inception in 1978, MWCE has designed building systems for a wide array of facilities, both new construction and historic renovations and restorations. Projects include office buildings; educational and medical facilities; libraries; museums; administrative buildings; religious institutions; shopping centers; recreational, arts and entertainment facilities; and multi-family residential, including high-rise housing.
MWCE has worked with international, national and regionally-based clients including residential and mixed use real estate developers, and architectural firms; many award-winning and internationally renowned. Institutional clients include the University of Pennsylvania, University of Virginia, Cornell University, University of Delaware, Delaware Valley College, and Cabrini College.
