Urban has received its first task order as part of a five-year open end environmental contract serving PENNDOT District 5-0, which encompasses Berks, Lehigh, Northampton, Schuylkill, Carbon, and Monroe counties in eastern Pennsylvania.

The contract focuses on a variety of engineering, environmental, and stockpile design issues at PENNDOT maintenance facilities. Environmental and planning assignments will involve permitting, environmental assessments, stormwater control, and coordinating with local municipalities regarding zoning and building code issues. Engineering assignments may encompass a wide range of services, though they may generally be limited to maintenance yard improvements, utility relocations, right-of-way plans, drainage design, and the like.

The first work order involves developing a detailed land survey, grading and site plan, erosion & sedimentation control plan, as well as storm water controls for a proposed salt storage facility at PENNDOT’s Reading Bone Stockpile located in Berks County, PA.
