Under Urban’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), Urban’s employees own approximately 40 percent of the company’s outstanding shares, a figure that grows each year. To celebrate Employee Ownership Month, daily raffles were held over a two-week period culminating in the award of the Grand Prize, a $300 American Express Gift Card.

Each day, the name of an Urban employee was drawn and that person was designated “Employee Owner of the Day” and awarded an Urban Prize Pack of Urban Engineers' promotional items. The Employee Owner of the Day then drew the name of the daily prize winner. Prizes included gift certificates to Lowes, Barnes & Noble, Target, Best Buy, Circuit City, Ikea, Amazon.com, Pet Smart, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Outback Steakhouse, overnight accommodations at Urban’s upcoming annual party, Eagles’ football tickets, Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce Culture Passes for 2005-2006, and other goodies.

The event received enthusiastic support from Ed D’Alba and Joe McAtee, Urban’s principal owners.
