John Federico named President of ASCE Young Member Forum

Urban’s John Federico has been named President of the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Young Member Forum.

Federico will serve a one-year term. He was elected by his Young Member Forum peers.

The ASCE Younger Member Forum is a way for civil engineers that are 35 years or younger, including college students, to transition from college into the working world and then eventually into the ASCE section proper.

With six years of ASCE YMF experience, Federico has already held the positions of South Jersey Liaison, Community Service Chair, Secretary and Vice President.

“As President, I will have opportunities for public speaking, leading YMF board meetings, and the overall responsibility for an organization,” said Federico, a 1999 graduate of Villanova.

A registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania, Federico joined Urban in 1999. His expertise includes transportation and land-use planning; structural, transit, and civil engineering design; hydrologic and hydraulic analysis; and construction inspection.
