Robert M. Wright, former City of Philadelphia Chief Engineers, joins Urban Engineers


Robert M. Wright, P.E. has joined the firm as vice president and director of the newly formed Municipal Engineering Practice. Wright most recently held the position of chief engineer and surveyor in the Philadelphia Department of Streets. As chief engineer, he managed the department’s Engineering/Survey and Design Division, which has responsibility for all transportation facility and roadway design , bridge design and construction, surveying, and road records in the City.

A registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Wright is a 1979 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in civil and urban engineering. Active in professional organizations, Wright is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Society of Highway Engineers, Mid-Atlantic Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, American Public Works Association, Engineers Club of Philadelphia, Delaware Valley Engineers Week Council, and the University of Pennsylvania Transportation Systems Engineering Alumni Club.
