Urban On Track with ConnDOT Win

Urban Engineers, Inc. will serve as a subconsultant to Haks Engineers, P.C. for the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s (ConnDOT) Section C1b Railroad Catenary and Bridge Rehabilitation Construction Inspection Project.

Urban will provide construction inspection expertise relating to the catenary work and bridge construction and rehabilitation in addition to constructability reviews. While Urban has been providing such services for over four decades, this selection represents the first time Urban will provide them to ConnDOT.

The project includes four bridge superstructure replacements and the full replacement of another bridge as well as approximately seven miles of catenary work on four tracks between Fairfield and Bridgeport, CT.

Construction is expected to begin in Spring 2007 with costs estimated at approximately $90 million.
