The Philadelphia Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has named Urban’s Alyson Lester, PE as its 2006 Young Civil Engineer of the Year. The award is given to the young engineer (age 35 or younger) who is judged to have contributed significantly to the civil engineering profession. Alyson, who joined Urban in 2001, is a 1998 graduate of the University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

According to Urban’s Carol Martsolf, who nominated Alyson, “Alyson did an excellent job leading the ASCE Younger Member Forum as its President in 2004-2005. Always an enthusiastic volunteer, Alyson does an extraordinary job no matter what is asked of her. The civil engineering community is fortunate to have a young leader like Alyson as a member of the profession."
