Urban's Carol Martsolf named president of ASCE Philadelphia


Carol Martsolf, PE is the new president of the Philadelphia Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Martsolf was elected to the position at ASCE’s May meeting and will serve in the position until May 2007.

Martsolf, who joined Urban in 2003 as a project engineer, has more than 12 years experience in engineering design, project management, and program management. Active in professional organizations, she also serves as vice president of the Philadelphia Chapter of Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS); vice president of the Philadelphia Engineering Foundation; and board member of the Engineers Club of Philadelphia, Delaware Valley Engineers Week Council, Temple University College of Engineering Alumni Board, and the Advisory Board of the Rowan University College of Engineering.

She is a graduate of Temple University with a degree in civil engineering.

At Urban, her responsibilities have included project management and technical contributions such as traffic analyses, highway and drainage design, right-of-way investigations, maintenance and protection of traffic, signing, pavement markings, specifications, estimates, and erosion and sediment pollution control for numerous Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, and City of Philadelphia projects.
