ARES Recruiting Group Takes on Public Service Mission

Urban’s newest group, ARES, (Attract and Retain Engineering Students) seeks to retain engineers and to increase interest in the professional field.  Public Service is the foundation of their mission, which is to show interested students how engineers provide a considerable service to all citizens by creating innovative solutions that enhance our life, through environmental, infrastructure, and facility improvements.

Group leader Jenn Pesch formed ARES after observing a steady decrease in the number of young engineers over the last few years.  Pesch saw that many engineering students discontinued their pursuit of an engineering career due to being uninformed about what engineers do and the many different fields of engineering that exist.
