Fifty-Seven Urban Employees Graduate from the Firm's Internal Training Class

Urban’s Internal Training Class, on the topic of Scheduling, was completed on March 13, 2007.  Half of the students/employees at Burt Kohlman and Tom Mitchell’s Scheduling presentation were in the Philadelphia office and half were tied in via audio in five states.

Internal Training, a company-wide benefit, seeks to teach employees a specific skill, instruct on specific topics, and assist employees with their career advancement.  The Internal Training Committee hopes to expand the program so that continuing education credits can possibly be granted for classes.

One Scheduling class graduate stated, “This training is a great opportunity for everyone in the firm to be exposed to learn and/or appreciate the many different facets of our diversified industry directly from the professionals that we employ and practice the most.”

The firm plans on providing Internal Training for the following topics in the upcoming months: Cost Estimating; Expert Witness Testimony for Civil Engineers; Stormwater Management Regulations; Drainage Design/Stormwater Management; Quality Control in Transit Projects; 3-D Modeling Visualization; and Historic Consideration for Materials and Methods for Roadways and Bridges.
