Urban is a Best Place to Work in 2007

Urban was again recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work” in Pennsylvania. The awards program is a public/private partnership of Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, and the Central Penn Business Journal.

At the Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania awards ceremony on November 27, Urban was ranked in the large company category (more than 251 employees). This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify and honor the best places of employment in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, benefiting the state economy, its workforce and businesses.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the 100 Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania. The first part consisted of a confidential employee survey, used to evaluate responses regarding employees’ individual, team, and organizational experience. The second part evaluated company benefits, policies, and practices.

At the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center, Urban’s significant commitment to continuing education was cited as one of the many excellent benefits that made it a “Best Place to Work.” Employees are encouraged to further their education through tuition reimbursement, salary increases for completion of an advanced degree or professional certification, and internal training on a wide-array of industry topics.
